Frequently asked questions

When during pregnancy can I get a massage?

Anytime! You can get a massage:

  • When you're trying to conceive

  • During all stages of your pregnancy

  • Through the first year after giving birth

  • Whenever you simply want to relax or reduce pain, tension, and stress

It's completely safe to receive a massage even during your first trimester. With my expertise as Kentucky's only Certified Prenatal & Postpartum Massage Therapist (CPPMT), you can achieve safe pain management, reduced stress, and a lower risk of prenatal and postpartum depression.

Do you take insurance?

I don't take insurance directly, but I'm delighted to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if your plan includes benefits for prenatal massage.

How soon after birth can I get a massage?

Right away! While massage is safe and even highly beneficial immediately after birth, most of my clients who birth in a hospital wait until being discharged before booking a massage appointment. To get easier access to postpartum care during the fourth trimester, you can book a massage in my clinic or in the comfort of your own home. If you're interested in booking an in-home session, please contact me.

If I’m on bedrest or if I have a high risk factor, can I still get a massage?

Yes, in most situations you can still safely receive a massage. Given that bedrest and high risk factors during pregnancy can be incredibly stressful, your safety is my #1 priority. Fortunately, massage can help reduce the stress you're carrying. No matter your situation, we will work together to customize your treatment plan to meet your unique health needs.
